Tabstead

Your tabs stay yours.

Privacy policy · Effective October 13, 2026 · Published by Zeplik, Inc

What Tabstead handles

Tabstead reads the titles and URLs of open tabs when you use its interface. When you save a collection, the URLs, page titles, collection name, creation time, favorite status and trash status are stored in chrome.storage.local within your current Chrome profile. Tabstead does not read page content, passwords, cookies, form fields or browsing history. Private windows and non-HTTP(S) pages are excluded.

No collection by the publisher

The extension does not send this information to Zeplik, Inc or any other server. It contains no analytics, advertising, tracking, external fonts or external favicon services. No account is required, and collections are not synchronized to the cloud.

Permissions

The tabs permission lets Tabstead display open tab titles and URLs and save and reopen those links. The storage permission lets it keep collections locally. Tabstead requests no host permissions and injects no scripts into websites.

Your choices and retention

Saved collections remain until the extension's local data is removed. Moving a collection to Trash does not erase it; it remains recoverable. Uninstalling Tabstead removes its extension data from Chrome. Export a backup before uninstalling if you want to keep your collections. Exported JSON and Markdown files remain wherever you save them and must be deleted separately. Anyone you share an export with can read the included titles and URLs.

Opening links and sharing exports

Restoring a collection opens its original websites, which handle data under their own policies. Tabstead only exports data when you request it. It does not publish collections, send messages, or share files automatically.
